A complete rebuild of an existing spot from CG packshot creation through to bilingual recording and closed captioning

The Canadian team had received a set of new social assets from the US and required Canadian adaptation in both product shot and voice over, as well as extension on music licensing.

BACKGROUND

Product and packages in the original US video differed not only in lack of bilingual content, but also in lack of refinement. Colours, lighting, look and feel were all off and very clearly CG.

Working with an incredibly talented friend the Canadian net result was a hyper-realistic set of bilingual assets that were photographic perfect.

From there a focus on typography and brand-standard fonts, colours and tonality was implemented as well as iconography creation to better reflect the brand and add further sophistication.

BEFORE

AFTER

While technically this project was an adaptation of existing video content, it was to all intents and purposes a complete rebuild from the ground up. The only element that was going to stay untouched was the music track, however even that required my liaison with the Pro-Tunes rep in order to find the track and then secure and extension of licensing for Canadian use.

BEFORE

AFTER

Needing to re-record the English version I worked with my Montréal studio contacts to work for casting voice over actors. Short listing a series of potential actors, linguistics was engaged at Nicorette to finalize the French-Canadian selection. Remotely recording both English and French-Canadian sessions, as well as locating and extending the licensing of the audio track with Pro-Tunes, the audio was ready to build.

These assets were built for Television, DVC and social channel use on Instagram and Facebook. Given the ad standards, captioning was built separately and export for TV was included in the final package of languages and ratios that had every single market channel covered.
